Core Specialties

Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)

Clinical Laboratory Scientists perform complex tests on blood, body fluids, and tissues to help diagnose, treat, and prevent diseases. They operate sophisticated laboratory equipment, interpret test results, and ensure the accuracy and precision of laboratory findings.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
ASCP certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)

Medical Laboratory Technicians carry out routine laboratory tests under the supervision of a Medical Laboratory Scientist. They prepare samples, conduct tests, and report results to help in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.

Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field.
ASCP certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT).
Attention to detail and ability to follow precise protocols.

Histotechnologist (HTL)

Histotechnologists prepare tissue samples for microscopic examination by pathologists. This involves processing, embedding, cutting, staining, and mounting tissue specimens to assist in disease diagnosis and research.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Histotechnology or a related field.
ASCP certification as a Histotechnologist (HTL).
Manual dexterity and meticulous attention to detail.

Histotechnician (HT)

Histotechnicians assist in preparing tissue specimens for microscopic examination. They perform tasks such as fixing, embedding, sectioning, and staining tissues, ensuring samples are ready for analysis by a pathologist.

Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in Histotechnology or a related field.
ASCP certification as a Histotechnician (HT).
Ability to handle delicate specimens and attention to detail.

Cytotechnologist (CT)

Cytotechnologists examine cell samples under a microscope to detect abnormalities and diagnose diseases, such as cancer. They work closely with pathologists to provide accurate diagnostic information.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Cytotechnology or a related field.
ASCP certification as a Cytotechnologist (CT).

Phlebotomy Technician (PBT)

Phlebotomy Technicians are responsible for drawing blood from patients for various laboratory tests and procedures. They ensure proper labeling and handling of specimens and maintain patient safety and comfort during the procedure.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
ASCP certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (PBT).
Excellent manual dexterity and communication skills.

Pathologists' Assistant (PA)

Pathologists' Assistants provide support to pathologists by preparing and examining tissue specimens and performing autopsies. They play a crucial role in the diagnosis and research of diseases.

Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Pathologists' Assistant program.
ASCP certification as a Pathologists' Assistant (PA).
Strong knowledge of pathology and laboratory procedures.

Blood Banking Specialist (SBB)

Blood Banking Specialists manage and perform all aspects of blood bank and transfusion medicine, including donor collection, compatibility testing, and ensuring safe blood transfusions..

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or a related field.
ASCP certification as a Specialist in Blood Banking (SBB).
Detailed knowledge of immunohematology and transfusion protocols.

Molecular Biology Technologist (MB)

Molecular Biology Technologists conduct molecular diagnostic tests, including DNA/RNA analysis for genetic disorders, infectious diseases, and oncology. They use advanced techniques such as PCR and sequencing.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Medical Technology, or a related field.
ASCP certification as a Technologist in Molecular Biology (MB).

Microbiology Biology Technologist (MB)

Microbiology Technologists perform and interpret microbiological tests to identify bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites. They plat a vital role in diagnosing infections and guiding treatment options.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Medical Technology, or a related field.

Cytogenetic Technologist (CG)

Point of Care Testing (POC)

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Lab Science, Medical Technology, or a related field.
ASCP certification as a Specialist in Point-of-Care Testing (POCT)
Knowledge of POC testing devices and quality control protocols

Laboratory Compliance Specialist (LCS)

Laboratory Compliance Specialists ensure that laboratory operations comply with federal, state, and local regulations and standards. They conduct audits, develop compliance programs, and provide training on regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Lab Science, Medical Technology, or a related field.

Technologist in Hematology (H)
