The Laboratory Supervisor plays a key leadership role in a high-complexity CLIA-certified clinical laboratory, partnering closely with Laboratory and Medical Directors to ensure testing quality, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. This role provides hands-on technical oversight while leading laboratory staff, optimizing workflows, and supporting strategic growth initiatives.
Shift: Monday to Friday, 9am start
Pay: up to $110,000

Provide technical, operational, and managerial oversight for assigned testing areas within a high-complexity CLIA laboratory.
Perform and oversee advanced molecular and immunocytochemistry assays, including:
Tumor Cell Enumeration (TCE)
Immunocytochemistry (ICC)
Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization (FISH)
Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS)
Ensure accurate test performance, result integrity, and adherence to established protocols and regulatory standards.
Supervise laboratory staff and oversee day-to-day operations to ensure timely, accurate, and consistent testing.
Lead hiring, onboarding, training, competency assessments, and ongoing performance management of laboratory personnel.
Ensure adequate cross-training and staffing coverage to support uninterrupted laboratory operations.
Lead quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) activities, including data review, deviation investigations, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
Maintain compliance with CLIA, CAP, and internal quality system requirements.
Support inspection readiness, audits, and regulatory responses in collaboration with laboratory leadership.
Continuously evaluate and optimize laboratory workflows, assays, instrumentation, and layouts to improve efficiency and quality.
Oversee laboratory equipment maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and vendor coordination.
Lead laboratory safety initiatives, including audits, incident reviews, and corrective actions; serve as Laboratory Safety Officer as needed.
Manage laboratory inventory, supplies, and vendor relationships to support ongoing testing needs.
Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related life science field that meets CLIA requirements.
Minimum 2 years of supervisory or management experience in a clinical or regulated laboratory environment.
Strong understanding of high-complexity laboratory operations and regulated testing environments.
Demonstrated experience leading teams, resolving operational challenges, and managing competing priorities.
Knowledge of laboratory quality systems, documentation standards, and good laboratory practices.
Proficiency with laboratory information systems (LIS) and standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Excel).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Master’s or doctoral degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
Experience working in a high-complexity CLIA laboratory.
Hands-on experience with molecular diagnostics, ICC, FISH, NGS, or advanced imaging workflows.
