Lead and oversee day-to-day clinical laboratory operations, including testing, quality control, specimen workflow, documentation, and result reporting.
Manage, train, mentor, and evaluate laboratory personnel.
Remain hands-on at the bench and assist with patient testing and laboratory workflow as needed.
Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, New York State/NYSDOH, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
Serve as a key laboratory representative during regulatory inspections and third-party audits.
Manage corrective actions and maintain inspection readiness.
Oversee quality control, proficiency testing, competency assessments, and laboratory documentation.
Participate in and oversee assay and method validations.
Troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation, assays, workflows, and technical issues.
Utilize laboratory information systems (LIS/LIMS) to support laboratory operations and reporting.
Identify opportunities to improve laboratory quality, efficiency, turnaround times, and workflow.
Monitor laboratory performance and operational metrics.
Support reagent, supply, and equipment management.
