Join a 100+ bed acute-care facility lab team performing specialized clinical laboratory testing across all disciplines. This role requires accuracy, independent judgment, and the ability to prioritize testing under high-volume conditions.
Perform and report specialized clinical laboratory tests across disciplines (chemistry, hematology, microbiology, blood bank, etc.).
Document all testing and quality actions in laboratory information systems.
Conduct and document instrument calibrations and routine preventative maintenance per manufacturer guidelines.
Execute quality control testing and document remedial actions for out-of-control results.
Perform STAT testing promptly and prioritize workload to expedite patient results.
Communicate critical/panic values to ordering services and record actions taken.
Follow laboratory safety protocols and standard precautions.
Perform venous and arterial phlebotomy as needed.
Maintain a clean work area, adequate supplies, and reagent inventories.
Assist with implementing new testing procedures and training/supervising Laboratory Assistants and Phlebotomists (weekends/after-hours supervision as required).
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
Valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist license issued by the State (or appropriate regional licensure).
2–3 years’ experience in a core laboratory setting (including microbiology and blood bank).
Strong ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.
