Clinical Laboratory Scientist Generalist – Nights

Location: Lake Forest, California | Work Location: On-site | Contract Type: Full-Time | Job Category: Allied Health | Salary Range: $55 – $60/hr + $4 shift differential

Work as a CLS to perform assay calibration, quality control, patient testing, and release results through the LIS system.

Shift: 7:30pm – 3:30am Tuesday to Saturday

Oversee and ensure the completion of testing across all shifts while maintaining analytical performance standards.
Monitor and review quality control logs to confirm test accuracy.
Implement remedial actions when necessary to maintain laboratory performance standards.
Provide technical training and orientation to both licensed and unlicensed staff.
Confirm abnormal results and communicate with healthcare providers regarding unusual findings.
Maintain and update technical procedure manuals as needed.
Collaborate with vendors to integrate new analyzers and methodologies.
Manage inventory and ordering of laboratory supplies.
Supervise lab assistants and technicians, providing guidance and support.
Conduct and document proficiency testing.
Ensure calibration and proper functioning of all laboratory equipment.
Maintain organized and accessible records and specimen storage.
Meet target deadlines for task completion.
Provide backup support for technical and clerical roles as needed.
Report issues to laboratory management.
Engage in continuous professional development.
Seek mentorship and coaching when necessary.

Education and Certification

Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related scientific discipline preferred.
Certification or licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist or equivalent, as required by state regulations
