Position Overview
The Analytical Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for managing and overseeing laboratory operations, focusing on analytical processes utilizing advanced immunoassay techniques and mass spectrometry (e.g., LC-MS/MS).
Work Schedule:
Tuesday through Saturday, 8:00 PM – 4:30 AM
Responsibilities

Supervise daily activities of laboratory staff and ensure accurate reporting of test results in compliance with regulatory standards.
Provide direct supervision to lab personnel, including technicians and assistants, as required by applicable regulations.
Oversee testing procedures using advanced immunoassay and/or mass spectrometry technology, ensuring optimal performance and compliance.
Coordinate staffing to meet production requirements.
Monitor and document laboratory performance and take corrective actions when necessary.
Lead process improvement initiatives in areas such as safety, quality, and document control.
Collaborate with vendors on projects including equipment installation, method validation, and troubleshooting.
Assist in technical evaluations to enhance or validate laboratory testing methods.
Oversee training programs for laboratory staff.
Ensure the proper maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment; liaise with vendors for repairs and troubleshooting.
Develop and update laboratory protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Conduct performance evaluations of direct reports.
Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, quality assurance standards, and regulatory compliance.
Participate in internal audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This role fulfills the supervisory requirements under applicable laboratory regulations, including:
Being accessible for consultation and oversight of laboratory operations.
Resolving technical problems and ensuring the lab meets performance specifications.
Providing guidance and orientation for testing personnel.
Ensuring compliance with all confidentiality, HIPAA, and security policies.

Qualifications
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field (chemistry, biology, or clinical laboratory science) required.
Active laboratory license required (based on state regulations for clinical laboratory roles).
Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of clinical lab experience, Master’s degree with 4+ years of experience, or PhD with 2+ years of experience.
Minimum of 2 years post-license experience required.
Prior supervisory experience is highly desirable.
Familiarity with laboratory equipment, techniques, and supplies.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Leadership and project management capabilities.
Commitment to maintaining continuing education credits as required by state regulations.
